During the British colonial period, tea biscuits became popular in Sri Lanka, and clever home cooks started layering them with homemade cocoa cream to make this chilled treat. It’s often made ahead and kept in the fridge — just like Grandma used to do, waiting for grandkids to sneak a slice when no one was watching!
