A Breakfast Born in Farmlands

Menemen comes from the Aegean region of Turkey, where farmers cooked freshly picked tomatoes and peppers right in the fields. Eggs were cracked in at the end for a quick, protein-rich meal. Even today, Menemen inspires lively debates in Turkey — with onions or without? Every family has their own “correct” version!
